Description: “The existence of this quilt is a consequence of having read Sherri Lynn Wood’s book “The Improv Handbook for Modern Quilters.” Using one of their improvisation processes, I started cutting and joining the fabrics, where I decided to use 3 ranges of colors (green, red and white) but where I wanted to add an extra factor regarding the use of color, going from clarity to darkness . Once all the piecing was done, I felt that when looking at the quilt, the effect of light and shadow was like an artificial light was illuminating the upper left corner … hence its name comes. Making this quilt was a wonderful exercise in improvisation, interaction of the color, lights and shadows”.
