BEGINNING TO IMPROVISE

In this class, you will learn:
1.- To put together a complementary color palette, ideal for this project.
2.- 4 different improvisational techniques, such as cutting without rulers, building blocks, and composing.
3.- What it is to improvise.
4.- To create 4 sections with these techniques: strip improvisation, improv triangles, soft curves, and random pairs, coming together into your own quilt.
CREATIVE AND COLORFUL IMPROV PIECING

In this class, you will learn:
1.- Four new improvisational piecing techniques (triangles, crosses, quarter circles, freestyle log cabin).
2.- How to choose a color palette that works perfectly for the project.
3.- To piece an organic quilt top.
4.- To quilt spirals on your machine.
5.- To add colorful hand stitches for texture.
WATERCOLOR QUILT
ON DEMAND CLASS — watch at your own pace and time and as many times as you want.
Duration: 98 minutes. Includes supply list and handout.
In this class, you will learn:
1.- About Color Theory, the chromatic circle, and the 3 variables of color.
2.- The process of choosing fabrics to create a beautiful color transition, like painting with watercolors.
3.- To design, cut, and sew your quilt improvisationally, with some rules to create beautiful movement.
Includes subtitles in 8 languages.
THE POWER OF COLOR COMPOSITION
ON DEMAND CLASS — watch at your own pace and time and as many times as you want.
Duration: 70 minutes. Includes subtitles in 8 languages: Spanish, Português, Dutch, French, German, Swedish, Italian, Russian.
In this class, you will learn:
1.- How hue, value, and saturation work together to create balance, contrast, movement, and depth in your quilts.
2.- To look at examples from art, and from Carolina’s own quilts and quilts by other artists, to understand thoughtful color composition.
3.- To work with color intentionally, with practical ideas you can apply directly to your quilting.
Necessary materials: Sewing machine that makes a straight stitch, walking foot, quarter-inch foot, fabrics, thread, rotary cutter, ruler, iron, paper, masking tape, fabric marker.
Beginners to advanced quilters.
