CURVES & SHAPES is a class series that will take you through three different approaches to curved piecing — precise, transparent, and organic. It is composed of three On Demand classes: “Curves and Transparencies,” “Organic Shapes,” and “Waves and Shapes.”

  1. CURVES AND TRANSPARENCIES
    In this class, you will learn how to design, cut, and sew curves with precision, and how to use color transparency to add depth and movement to your piecing.

  2. ORGANIC SHAPES — HOW TO SEW ROUND SHAPES
    In this class, you will learn my method for sewing round and organic shapes smoothly, without puckers, so your curves lie flat every time.

  3. WAVES AND SHAPES
    In this class, you will learn how to combine curves with value, hue, and gradients to build more complex shapes, working toward your own mini quilt top.
    With all my classes you will receive access to a private Facebook group where you can share your progress, ask questions and share your creation.

All these classes are PRERECORDED so you can watch them at your own pace and time and as many times as you want.

CURVES AND TRANSPARENCIES

Duration: approximately 60 minutes
In this class, you will learn:
1.- How to design, cut, and sew curves with precision.
2.- How to work with color transparency to create the illusion of layered, see-through fabric.
3.- How to finish your curved piecing, including facing and binding techniques.
4.- You will receive access to a Facebook group where you can share your progress, ask questions and share your creation.

ORGANIC SHAPES — HOW TO SEW ROUND SHAPES
ON DEMAND CLASS — watch at your own pace and time and as many times as you want.
In this class, you will learn:
1.- My step-by-step method for sewing round and organic shapes.
2.- How to avoid puckers and keep your curves lying flat.
3.- How to apply this technique to your own designs.
4.- You will receive access to a Facebook group where you can share your progress, ask questions and share your creation.

WAVES AND SHAPES
ON DEMAND CLASS — watch at your own pace and time and as many times as you want.
In this class, you will learn:
1.- How to combine curves with value, hue, and color gradients.
2.- How to build more complex shapes from simple curved units.
3.- You will work toward your own 18” x 22” mini quilt top using these techniques.
4.- You will receive access to a Facebook group where you can share your progress, ask questions and share your creation.

Necessary materials:
Fabrics, thread, sewing machine that makes a straight stitch, a quarter-inch foot, rotary cutter, ruler, pins or clips, and iron.
Suitable for all skill levels.
